Just wanted to say that you are doing great with your weight loss and seem to be really motivated!! Sure, it might take you a year and a half to get to goal, but SO WHAT!! It will all be worth it in the end. Each 'little' loss will all add up and before you know it, you'll get there!! About portion sizes, when I first started again I never meaured anything, I just kinda guessed. It wasn't helping at all. But since I've started measuring everything and tracking everything, I am doing so much better. The first week that you reduce your portion sizes you may feel a little hungrier, but after a week your body will be used to it!! One more suggestion. Do you drink lots of water?? I try and drink 3 litres a day and feel so much better for it after each day!!! Have a good week and dance up a storm tonight!! posted by: wooble (reply) post date: 04.17.05 (1:42 am) Hello Hello! The only way i found that worked in reducing my portion sizes was to buy smaller plates! I went out and bought like a bread and butter plate thats painted in really bright colours. So for main meals i stick to that and if im starving 20min aftter i eat that plate i canhave some more. But i rarely am. Also for cereal and stuff I bought a smaller bowl. It still feels like u are eating a normal amount, the plate is just smaller so u put less on...hope that helps :o) posted by: fabfitfunky (reply) post date: 04.17.05 (3:11 am) Portions sizes can be hard and as annoying as it is - Measure EVERYTHING! Try it for a week and see how you go. As for dancing on your own - OMIGOD!!! Thats AWESOME!! I would never have the guts to go SOLO! Way to go B!!!!! posted by: Nicky (reply) post date: 04.17.05 (6:27 pm) Gosh your scrapbooking is so good! Did you do classes or anything? Gosh I love a spring clean! I just hate it when 2 days later everythings messy again :( I dont know about portion sizes, I eat HEAPS!! posted by: Lozzy (reply) post date: 04.17.05 (7:14 pm) when i needed to reduce portion sizes.. i used a smaller plate or bowl.. it gave me the illusion that i was eating more when i wasnt... and when i eat.. i make sure i finish everything in my mouth first, before i scoop up some more.. that way i can judge exactly how full i am feeling.. :) remember any loss is a good loss... slow and steady wins the race posted by: newbie (reply) post date: 04.19.05 (2:59 am) When you feel that you goal is far away just remember that everything you do now makes a difference. If you are good then you will look and feel better sooner rather than later. Unlike Santa who gyps us by making us be good for a whole year before giving out the goodies the good fairy of healthy living gives out presents all the time to those who behave (unfortunately unlike santa she'll take stuff away if you're bad) |
